We are not talking the
shimmer or bonze sort, but the healthy just returned
from-a-brisk-walk--along-the-beach kind. The crucial component of this look
is luminous skin, so if you are not already drinking a minimum of two liters
of water & eating five portions of fruit a day, start now.
Although it
takes a little bit of effort, we guarantee that in a couple of weeks you
will notice a huge improvement in your complexion & general wellbeing. When
making yourself up - yes, this look does require a little bit of cosmetic
help- think subtle as opposed to sultry, & bare as opposed to brash.
PRIMER:-
Firstly, prime the skin by dabbing on some of Philosophy's excellent Present
Clear Makeup Skin Perfecto. Its key ingredient is silicone, so not only it
feel silky smooth to the touch, it gently firms the skin too.
FOUNDATION:-
If you can't bear the thought of going naked- i.e.
you can't step out of the
house without your foundation on- why not invest in a lighter version
instead? If you are feeling brave, why not abandon foundation
altogether & switch to a tinted moisturiser instead? Trust me, it really
does provide good coverage & give the illusion of naturally flawless skin.
If you wish to wear makeup, utilize only the best cosmetics brushes and
beauty tools to enhance your finest features and cover flaws. This allows
you to apply only the amount that is needed while blending in any excess
color.
Apply a tinted moisturizer or sheer foundation with a damp sponge. Either
one will allow your natural skin tone to show through while covering minor
imperfections.
Creme or liquid blush blends more naturally than powder.
Apply to the apple of your cheeks, outwards, into your hairline to prevent
makeup lines. Don't want to overdo
your eyes? You can now enhance your own eyelashes without adding clumps or
colors. New, clear mascara is available to separate your lashes and give
them luster and shine.
BLUSHER:
If you are trying not to stray too fart from your natural color, warmer skin
will suit a warmer, browner blusher. But if you would like to cheat & look
warm & glowing, this is the point where you can get away with it. Choose an
apricot or slightly more golden or peachy brown. If you are the peaches
and-cream complexion, use a reddish brown or peachy brown color to add
warmth. Got ruddy skin already? Don't feel tempted to pass on blusher
altogether. A little bit of blusher used further back on the cheekbones,
will connect the higher coloring & detract from "hotspots" that make you
looked flushed & out of control. For classic porcelain skin , use natural
brown reddish brown to add a little bit of warmth, or try a truer rose. If
you have a cool skin tone, be careful when using red-brown shades - they can
look "dirty".
Positioning is key. Where do you blush? The most natural application is not
the very front apple of the cheek - try moving a little bit further back.
Draw an imaginary straight line from the outer corner of the eye down to the
cheekbone & wash the color is there. If anyone can see the blusher from more
than five feet away, you have applied too much. Creme or liquid
blush blends more naturally than powder. Apply to the apple of your cheeks,
outwards, into your hairline to prevent makeup lines.
EYE SHADOW:-
Start by getting your brows in shape, either by yourself or professionally.
Look at your eyes & see where they are naturally darker shadows & where the
light naturally illuminates. Let your eye structure tell you exactly where
you should use your shadow.
Tilt your head back slightly & raise your brows
- this shows both eyes at the same time, so you can see what you are doing &
it also shows off all of your natural colors. The base color the one that is
closest to your own skin tone- is applied over the entire eye area from
eyelashes to eyebrows. Wherever you see a slightly darker shadow, use a
deeper shade to accentuate it & than blend, blend, blend. There should never
be a clear line from one shade to the next. If you have too much blending to
do, your shades were not close enough in the first place. Once your blending
is done, you will find that all of the eye shadow falls into the natural
contours of your eye & simply leaves you with a darker version of what was
already there.
You couldn't find an easier formula for application.
EYE LINER:-
Instead of using an eyeliner, try shading near the lash line. Use a flat,
straight lining brush to smudge some of the darkest shadow right into your
lower lash line. You can go halfway for a softer look or a bit further for
more emphasis.
MASCARA:-
Mascara is a must! Make sure not to build your lashes into lethal spikes;
they just need to be subtly defined. Don't want to overdo your eyes? You can
now enhance your own eyelashes without adding clumps or colors. New, clear
mascara is available to separate your lashes and give them luster and shine.
LIP COLOR:-
If you have a strong natural coloring, to your mouth, you will find this
pretty simple. A clear gloss or one with just a hint of reddish or rose
brown color will do. But if you have very little natural color, you will
need a more opaque, satin or matte version of the same shade.
You will have to practice this application because it takes longer to get a
natural well-blended look. Use the best light you can find & don't try going
over the natural shape of your mouth. Alternatively, slick on some vaseline
or a lip gloss with a slightly colored tint.
